Responsibility of the Commander

It is the responsibility of the Commander to preside at all meeting and to enforce strict observance of the laws and usages of this organization as its leader.

 

Retired MSG Lane served with the 312th EVAC Hospital USAR for 21 years. Rita joined VFW Post 9010 in 2014, and became a Life Member in 2015.

Sr VICE COMMANDER

Responsibility of the Senior Vice Commander

The Senior Vice Commander shall assist the Commander in preserving order and preside in the absence of the Commander.

Responsibility of the Junior Vice Commander

The Junior Vice Commander shall assist the Commander in preserving order and preside in the absence of either the Commander or Senior Vice Commander.

QUARTERMASTER

Responsibility of the Quartermaster

He is to collect all monies due the Post and have charge of the funds, securities and other property of the post.  The Quartermaster is also the Treasurer of all funds.  As such, he is to disburse funds as properly authorized.  He is to also prepare a tentative balanced budget for the ensuing year.

Responsibility of the Chaplain

The Chaplain is to see that proper tribute is paid to our departed comrades.

ADJUTANT (appointed)

Responsibility of the Adjutant

Maintain the minutes from the Post's monthly business meeting.  The Adjutant is also responsible for keeping a current copy of the By-Laws, Manual of Procedure and Ritual of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United State.

JUDGE ADVOCATE

Responsibility of the Judge Advocate

The Judge Advocate is to give the Commander such legal assistance incident to his office.

Responsibility of the Surgeon

The Surgeon is to promote health programs to the Post Comrades and the community that we serve.

SERVICE OFFICER (appointed)

Responsibility of the Service Officer

The Service Officer shall assist the members, their widows and orphans, and other worthy cases in obtaining rightful benefits from the federal or state governments.  His work shall be performed in accordance with policies established by the National Veterans Service Advisory Committee.
